Wow, this sounds like a great book, thanks for the review. I had seen this reviewed somewhere else (not this site) and that reviewer had similar thoughts to you. Have you read the second book? Stories of religion, faith, and demonic possession have been around since time began and it is interesting how we still enjoy reading these topics.

From how much praise the author has received previously with Raven's Peak, I feel like this would also be an enjoyable read! I read and watched The Exorcist few years back, which I enjoyed, so I will probably give this one a go!

A book that makes you feel so tense as if you were watching a movie? A skillful writer must be he! Although I'm intrigued because of the superb writing that makes the characters real-like, I must pass on this one. Horror stories are my enemy. I don't want to have nightmares. Thanks for the review!

This one is right up my ally, I can't wait to read it. I love tense, creepy, psychological thrillers, you've made me want to read his other books too. Thanks for the review!

The genre of this book and its main theme of exorcism didn’t initially interest me. But after reading about the focus on characterization and the well written suspense, I’m going to give this one a second thought.

After reading your review about this book, I can hardly wait to start reading it. I have always love horror and thrilling stories. I'd love to know more about Niccolo and his struggles to solve the problem in Washington. To me, solving mysteries is one of the things that I love about the stories that I read.

I would have loved this book, except that horror is not really my thing. I think I'll pass on this one. Thanks for such detailed review

I can sense that from the sample this book eventually will be like a horror movie. What I wonder is whether the holy father will drive the demons out or will he discover something totally different?
Horror books are not my type of books. In that case, I will pass this one.

Sounds like a thrilling horror! I'm not a fan of horror. Congrats on the BOTD and the goosebumps. Running two threads in your mind might be a bit of a fun challenge.

Engaging review. I like this genre, and you do such a great job at outlining the basic plot then dangling intriguing plot twists turns. Fantastic protagonist character description. I will definitely be reading this book and its companion. Nice work.

I'm not religious but the horror in this still sounds interesting. I like the cover as well - it's very eerie. Congrats to the author on BOTD.

This sounds like an interesting read. I haven’t read a horror novel in a long time, but your review is convincing. I’ll definitely try to get to this one soon. Great review.
