The validity of this book's message and teaching is very live. Financial greed and political manoeuvres are present even in today's world. It turns out to be even a dangerous venture when several states are eyeing control of the same project.

It is intriguing to see technical jargon were avoided to ensure readers are not bored. Nevertheless, mystery genre is not my cup of tea. Congratulation for comprehensive review!

Good review! I loved this novel, for me it's more of a spy novel than a political thriller... 4/4!

Reading through a lot of pros and cons about this book has, in the final analysis, left me still wanting to read the book. This review clinches it. For someone, it was delightful. And because I love politics and thrillers, I think I will like this a lot. Too bad about the cliffhanger, but I don't mind cliffhangers so much as the fact that either I have to wait for an opportunity to read for free or spend some of my practically non-existent cash :). I'm waiting; I will read this book.

There were quite a number of reviews for this piece. Lennycat's review appealed a little more to me. I think it is just a matter of perspective. I do not yet lose hope for a smooth ride once I set my sights on reading this at the opportune time.

I wonder if authors are aware of how much people dislike cliffhangers? It is one thing to leave the story with still more to tell, but a cliffhanger is just irritating. I am not sure if this would be a story I would be able to engage with. These kind of stories are always hit or miss with me, although you make it sound so tantalizing!
he delivers his dish of intrigue one delicious bite at a time, with tropical, languid scenes by the pool and sweet slices of deception from characters who are not what they seem to be
Martin ends his book with an abrupt cliffhanger that left a bitter taste in my mouth
This is a nicely well-rounded review and as the quotes show, you bring your thoughts full circle. Thanks!

A tale of politics, sabotage and crime in the cutthroat business of construction and the need for power and control of the Canal. You are right. Cliff hangers leave us in dark. Thanks for the review.
