Thanks Tanaya and Emoffat. Your comments are truly appreciated. Hopefully, the author develops his skills and blows us away with his next book.

While the premiss sounds like something I might normally be interested in (I like gitty "dirty" realism), I'm glad you forewarned us. Lack of nuance and clarity, is especially unfriendly to this kind of subject matter. It shouldn't be the most difficult thing to suspend our imagination, but its pretty much essential that one captures natural dialog, but enscapsulate it within clear diction. Sounds like a painful slog.

A book without chapters seems tiring.

Sorry you didn't enjoy reading the novel. I know how it feels and I admire your honesty.

Jaime Lync wrote:Thanks everyone for your comments on my review. Both the cover and the premise made this seem like it would be worth reading but it really wasn't. I am not fond of giving such low ratings but I would not recommend this to anyone at all.
I don't like it either, when a low rating is necessary. I too work hard to find something nice to say but sometimes you just can't find much of anything. I appreciate your solid review.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

It's a shame that the author did not give depth to the characters. I think i will get stressed out reading this book that has no chapters. Nice and honest review.

Thanks Rosemary for your feedback. The one chapter was really depressing.

Sounds like this one is a lot of work. I think having no likable characters can definitely ruin a book. If you're not rooting for any of them... what's the point? Hopefully the next one is better!

I enjoy crime novels, so it's really unfortunate that this one turned out to be such a dud.

Thanks for your review. I dodged a bullet with that one. The title and the cover were very catchy that I almost bought the book nut reading your review, I don't think this is something i'd enjoy reading.
