Title: E M P Honeymoon
Author: Dorothy May Mercer
Genre: Fiction (Science Fiction, Romance, Crime Thriller)

Rating: 4/5

E M P Honeymoon is a captivating work of fiction that blends science fiction, romance, and crime thriller elements. The story follows an American couple, Kelly and Tom, who stumble upon a terrorist plot during their honeymoon in Honduras, setting off an unexpected and perilous adventure.

The author, Dorothy May Mercer, employs a straightforward and enjoyable writing style that is easy to comprehend. The plot is intriguing, and the minimal use of profanity is commendable. Notably, the book exhibits excellent editing, with only two minor grammar mistakes found throughout, showcasing a high level of professionalism.

Kelly and Tom's chemistry is portrayed authentically, contributing to the overall likability of the characters. The pacing of the story is commendable, diving right into the action without unnecessary delays. The immediate engagement of the reader is facilitated by well-executed scenarios, such as Kelly seeking her brother's assistance.

However, some aspects detract from the overall experience. Kelly's choice of a run-down hotel for their honeymoon, solely based on affordability, seems unrealistic, as one would expect more consideration for safety and ambiance. The book's basic writing style may leave readers with mixed feelings, as it lacks depth and fails to deliver suspense due to predictable events. Additionally, the abrupt transitions between scenes and insufficient character development hinder the narrative flow.

Despite these drawbacks, E M P Honeymoon earns a solid four out of five stars. The combination of genres, the engaging plot, and the chemistry between the main characters make it a worthwhile read. However, improvements in character development, scene transitions, and suspense-building could elevate the book further.

It is important to note that the book contains some sexual content, making it unsuitable for children. Nevertheless, readers seeking a quick and engaging escape or fans of romance fiction will likely find E M P Honeymoon an enjoyable choice for unwinding.
