This sounds really good! I'm looking forward to reading it! Despite it being slow in places, there still seems to be a lot going on. I like that the characters are well-developed, as well as opposites. Goes to show, looks can be deceiving...what appears to be a mismatched team can really be a dynamic duo in disguise! Thank you for your review!

Good review. I read the book summary on Amazon and thought "eh not really my type of book". After reading your review I'm more willing to give it a try. Thanks for the heads up about the sex scenes. Glad to hear they aren't graphic.

Well-written review. A crime thriller revealing a woman's struggle for freedom from prostitution in Berlin. Sounds interesting. I hope I read it soon.

I was nearly misled when I read the title of the book. But after reading the review I realized its not about sex and pleasure but an interesting story. Thumbs up!

This is the very genre I love the most, it's the one I'm also reviewing on my personal blog. Your review made it quite enticing to pick it up and read.

The review is great. It really illustrates that good characters and a lot of action in the setting of post cold war Berlin can make a great story. I like the fact that Jack seems like a rather boring character , but as I am sure turns out to be a hero underneath it all. The book drew me and I can't wait to read it.

I'm really drawn to the story. A prostitute running away from a ruthless thug with an honest kind hearted retired tax collector who also has a complicated marriage. I would surely be reading this book. Thanks for the great review and congrats to the author for making BOTD.

The Last Stop by Clive La Pensée has an premise of a young woman’s struggle to be free from the shackles of Berlin’s sex industry. What intrigues me is that the person who helps the victimized young woman is a 60 year old tax inspector retiree from England, who just wanted to enjoy his vacation in Berlin. It sounds like an interesting blend of personalities in this crime thriller.

I find the plot of Clive La Pensée's The Last Stop: A Berlin Story of Sex and Sedition, very fascinating. While crime thrillers hardly hold my attention, I would give this book a chance because I like strong characters. I also like the fact that the writer was "subtle on the sex scenes."

And the review? I think it's crisp. Love it!

This sounds like a great read. I like when the main characters aren't ones who you would expect to work together. Thanks for the review

I don't know if I'm interested in this book or not. I don't really like dark subject matter.

The Last Stop: A Berlin Story of Sex and Sedition by Clive La Pensée is a crime thriller that centers on a young woman’s struggle to be free from the shackles of Berlin’s sex industry. Maria’s quest to find her sister led her to a dangerous path. She needed help when she met Jack.
This has piqued my curiousity to read this book until the end. Thanks for the thorough review.

If I eventually read this book, it will be because Maria fascinates me. I would like to see how her life unfolds.
