The Scheme by Alexis V is a book that focuses on a group of friends who take matters into their own hands to discover who is responsible for their friend's murder. The circumstances leading to the death of their friend, Sage, are also the exact circumstances surrounding other misfortunes in the city. Buildings are getting burned and turned into a liquefied form. What happens when the police are on the same case and make no headway? Will the group find answers to Sage's murder? Read this book to get these answers and more.

The author is a fantastic storyteller. The elements of surprise are used adequately. The author ensures that most of the chapters leave the reader anticipating what happens next. For instance, readers will be surprised when the mystery surrounding Sage's murder is revealed.

I deemed portions of the story unnecessary when I first read them. An example was the story about individuals requesting refunds for defective cooking sets. At the time of the reading, those scenarios sounded irrelevant and totally outside the scope of the book's plot. However, in subsequent chapters, the author connected them to the plot spectacularly. It was like watching a movie by Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you decide to read this book, you must get to the end; every aspect of the story has a role in the general plot, no matter how irrelevant they might appear at the beginning.

I also liked that the author intentionally created a web of mystery around this story. The aura of mystery began from the book's cover. What other way would have been better to communicate mystery than a silhouette image of four people? However, that was nothing compared to what the reader would encounter in the story.

I couldn't find anything to dislike about the book. Though I found a few errors, I'd say the book was professionally edited. Therefore, I'd rate it 5 out of 5 stars. I'd recommend it to all lovers of conspiracy and adventure stories.

What made me interested in this book, out of anything, is the title: "The Scheme." Heck yeah, I wanna find out what the scheme is! I hope it's not one of those "don't judge a book by its cover" situations, and I end up disappointed. But this review adds further to my interest.

A murder, a conspiracy, and bits that seem unnecessary and then turn out to be significant is intriguing to me. Thank you for your great review!
