“Khanjar” by Bob O’Brien is a fast-paced story that truly captivates the readers. It follows the life of Nasir Shehadeh, a Palestinian with a past shrouded in mystery, who journeys to America with the goal of bringing a means of producing clean water to Palestine. However, he ends up getting entangled in complicated matters. Within the lines of this book, a mixture of military tactics, political intrigues, educational facts, and even a bit of romance can be found. It is a crime story that leaves readers in great suspense at the turn of every page. From the start to the end, readers will be left wanting to know more but unable to expect what comes next.

The wonderful vocabulary and in-depth writing provide the most immersive experience, making the readers feel like they are experiencing the events firsthand. The great attention to detail also allows room for a reader’s imagination to run wild, opening the doors to a whole new world.

While reading the book, it was evident that the author conducted deep research while writing, as he was able to describe in detail not only the complex engineering concepts but also the intricate military techniques that were employed in the book. Furthermore, the political references were focused on the apparent timeline in which the events within the book took place.

The character development was also wonderful, starting from their backstories: how these backstories affected their behaviors, ambitions, and ideologies. I didn’t have any apparent dislikes after reading the book, as it provided me with a wholesome reading experience. I was satisfied with how the author blended different themes and made them cohesive. The book was well-edited as I did not notice any errors, so I rate it 5 out of 5.

I recommend this book to people who love reading thrillers, and crime books, and to those who enjoy learning because I also learned so much from the book.
