Clifford Dee's team was in private practice as private investigators. Bailey, one of Clifford's team members, was on an assignment from J-Rock Studio and Sound to find evidence of copyright infringement of one of their rap songs by Dark Fenix. Dark Fenix was an already successful label—kind of—and they took advantage of smaller and upcoming artists by stealing their songs. That was normal, but something else they found wasn't. Bailey hacked another folder on Dark Fenix's computers and found encrypted files that could implicate them in an arms smuggling syndicate. However, upon digging further, they uncovered clues that implicated Kevin Burr, the new head of a division in the Feds, in an arms smuggling deal and assassination. All of a sudden, they began being targeted in several assassination attempts, which they always escaped. Clifford needed to work as quietly as possible to solve the cases, but it seemed it wasn't going to be a smooth ride after all. To find out more, read Clifford's War by J. Denison Reed.

Well... This is one of those novels that you pick not expecting much but end up disproven. This is an epic read, and I won't waste too much time dwelling on that. Instead, I'll just give my opinion about it and leave it to potential readers to decide for themselves.

Finding a well-written crime thriller like this isn't easy. For all I know, this is one of the few lucky ones that have impressed me. The plot was simply out of this world. This is also one of the best narrations I've come across. I loved how Clifford and his team worked together to bring down criminals. It was difficult for them to know who to trust while carrying out their duties, and they frequently had to cheat death just to uncover evidence.

I'm giving the book 5 out of 5 stars. There aren't any negative aspects to talk about except for the fact that the title is a little too generic and predictable for my liking. That can't be a good reason to deduct any stars and neither are there any. I recommend this book to all who love crime thrillers, detective stories, or similar genres.
