I don't like true crime books-- there's enough tragedy in the headlines -- but this one caught my interest. I am interested in social & economic conditions of the past, and the growing pains of departments such as the police. Also I've lived in Ohio and feel a connection. The author seems knowledgeable and the book looks to be well written. I look forward to reading it.

Not my usual genre, but my initial reaction is it may be a decent read. It may also be a little disturbing since I live in a state bordering Ohio where the murders happened.

I enjoy true crime a lot. This may sound strange, but my best friend was killed by serial killer, Henry Lee Lucas, when I was a junior in high-school. I started reading a lot of true crime at that time in an effort to figure out what made them tick. Thanks for the review! I look forward to the read.

Thanks for the great review. It is hard to imagine the cruelty done to the innocent girls. How evil can it get. . . with multiple victims whose lives were cut off by that demon possessed jackal. Congratulations to the author for the painstaking job of refreshing those gruesome events of the past.

Cold Serial:The Jack the Strangler Murders by Brian Forschner is one of those stories that grips you immediately and does not let go, even after you've finished reading the book. To know that the Authors relative was actually a victim is terrifying unto itself, and yet he still is able to write this book objectively. Your review is very comprehensive and almost as enjoyable as reading the book itself! Thank you for you great attention to detail and facts. The time you took to research the book is astonishing and I applaud you for it, this type of book is never easy to review, and sticks with you long after you are finished. Kudos for a job well done, and thank you so very much for all your attention to detail. This is a flawless review!!!

Thanks everyone for the nice feedback. I originally chose this book for review since I like true crime books. This one had a few extra twists with the author being a descendant of one of the victims and the historical aspect that focused on the social/political issues of the era.
