Review of Finding the Way

[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Finding the Way" by Will Jäger.]
When Turner Junior, an American teen, is kidnapped in Los Angeles and then mysteriously reappears in Greece, 3G sets out on a mission to find the people behind the boy's kidnapping and blackmail. Using their talents to carry out a cunning scheme and their brave deed, 3G tracks the actions of a criminal group that specializes in smuggling people into and out of the United States illegally across international borders. Wytze Moolman and 3G collaborate with the FBI, Interpol, and Europol to find a way to identify everyone involved.
The storyline of Finding The Way: 3G en Route by Will Jäger was quite captivating. The author has created a compelling plot that will captivate readers. This was significant to me because many of the crime novels I've read had little to no focus on a compelling plot. They simply pay attention to the movements and antics. However, I thought the plot was excellent. This book is the second in a series, and I'm curious to find out what happens in the third. The usage of suspense was enjoyable. The fact that this book was able to give me the exciting emotion I get while reading a crime novel pleased me. It was exciting to observe the various lines of action the 3G took. The plot's depiction of a society with advanced technology particularly caught my attention. Demanding payment in Bitcoin was interesting to read about in a crime book.
While I really liked this novel, I had some problems while reading it. The book was difficult to understand at first. Although it wasn't a slow-paced crime novel, there was a lot of information being dumped. Although I truly liked the premise, I didn't think the story was told perfectly. One of my biggest issues was the lengthy info dump. It almost became impossible to keep track of all the backstories because there were so many of them. Most of the scenes, in my opinion, seemed to have no further significance in the story. However, I felt that these scenes received more focus than those that furthered the plot. Also, this book started with a particular character in the first two pages and then did an abrupt switch to another character’s life, which was the driving point of the story. It left me feeling disappointed and dissatisfied because I couldn't find the character I had invested my time in. I became reluctant to learn about another character because I wasn't sure this new character would stick around. These were the issues that I had while reading this book.
This book was professionally edited. I rate Finding The Way: 3G En Route by Will Jäger 3 out of 5 stars. I loved the plot of this book. However, the execution issues got in my way; I had to deduct two stars from my rating.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys crime, action, and mystery books with a touch of technological advancement.
