I was planning on reading the book, but the minute you mentioned the serial killer doing disgusting things to his victim, I changed my mind. I recently read a book with triggering topics, but the book had failed to give any warning and it gave me anxiety. So I think I'll have to avoid this book. It's unfortunate because I liked everything you mentioned, especially the court proceedings.

The court proceedings in this novel were nicely narrated and the conversation between the Judge and Sparks gave a human element to the story. There are certain aspects of the novel that do not appeal to me. Thanks for the good review on this book.
