E M P Honeymoon is a story written by Dorothy May Mercer about Kelly and Tom the newlywed’s honeymoon vacation. The couple had planned a romantic vacation to a very beautiful destination, the island of Honduras. Once on the island, the lovebirds decided to take an adventure where they split and Tom went sailing while Kelly decides to explore the island.
The island had many beautiful sites that one of them caught Kelly’s attention and due to her curiosity, she decides to explore the place for sightseeing. The beautiful appearance of a gift shop attracted her but little did she know that she is walking into a dangerous place. She was spotted by a group of people who tried to attack her but she ran for her life and luckily, she narrowly escapes. Her husband upon learning about the new development he decided to look into the matter. His findings were shocking, whatever they had gotten themselves into could cost them their lives. Kelly contacted his brother who sent his bodyguard together with a CIA agent for a rescue mission. The government also sent some of his agents posing as tourists in search of the terrorist that Kelly pissed.
The book is interesting with a well-plotted fast-paced action that starts immediately and keeps up throughout the read. As the pages turn tension arises with the unexpected twists and turns which makes the book more enjoyable. The author did a splendid job in character development and growth with a glossary at the end of the book which will help minimize character confusion. The story is also packed with various themes like love, crime, family, politics, and a little humor. The book was written in different perspectives with alerts included notifying the reader.
Even though the author kept the story short for easy reading there are still some chapters that were rushed eliminating some of the useful information. There are also some situations where the author introduced a character wrong for example Kelly was introduced as the senator’s daughter instead of her sister. This will be confusing to some of the readers. The book has no vulgarity but a few sex scenes which are not erotic which makes it suitable for everyone.
I did enjoy reading E M P Honeymoon and the few mentioned shortcomings will not prevent me from giving it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. The book was professionally edited since I found no grammatical or spelling errors. The book is an entertaining read and I will recommend it to anyone who is intrigued by romance and nonviolent crime novels.
