A well-written, fast-paced international thriller with well-developed characters and full of action and suspense! Sounds a great read for me, so I will give it a try. Plus, it is well-edited. Thank you for the detailed review!

A book about terrorism and an attack on a school is not something that I enjoy reading. Thanks for the great review.

Seems interesting but I don't think I would enjoy reading it because of the political views.

Thank you for the great review. Knowing that the author includes a bit of education in the fiction makes me more likely to step outside of my genre comfort zone. I like nuance as long as I understand the context.

This is an action military thriller full of mystery, politics, romance, and suspense. The book is free on Kindle Unlimited and has an inciteful OnlineBookClub review. I rated the book 4 out of 4 stars. Congrats @jwinnick1 on the BOTD selection.

A terrorist attack on a Jewish preschool starts this exciting story. While this is a fictional story, it is based on events happening in the world today. However, the political comments take away from my enjoyment of the book. Congratulations to the author for being chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

I've been looking for a good politically charged thriller. I find it's helpful to read things that also challenge my own points of view. Even if they are fictional.

The opening of this book makes me think of shows like CSI and NCIS that start with a shocking crime. Then the investigators come in to find the clues and take down the bad guys. Those premises make for a good show and could make for a great book too. I have a copy of book four so I might have to figure out the order and read this series.

Some of the best passages in Devil in False Colors are related to pressing issues such as religiously motivated international terrorism, Iran’s nuclear threat, and Russia’s shady role in it. I enjoyed the author’s depiction of these historically and politically nuanced backgrounds. Winnick cleverly presents themes like the creation of the State of Israel, anti-Israel sentiment, and the prejudice against Jews. He also outlines the difference between Sunni and Shia Muslims, as well as some of Hezbollah’s underpinnings.
It must be hard to approach such controversial issues in a sensitive way.
These problems are still very much current and polemic, so I wonder how the author manages to touch on them without being biased, although, apparently, he makes his right-leaning position known.
I enjoy a good thriller but I don't think one that's so politically charged is right for me.
Thank you for your great review.

I think I'll pass on this one because of both the political messaging and the military topic, since both are turn-offs for me. I'm glad you enjoyed it, though. Thank you for your review.

Sounds like an interesting book. I tend to stay away from political books because that is just not my genre but I do love a good thriller. Thank you for your great review! I think it’s great you added the bit about the quote from the book about liberals and that it might upset some people.

When I saw the title of the book and read the description, I totally expected to not enjoy it nor to read any more than the sample. However, I was very pleased to find it was not what I expected and am adding this book to my bookshelf.
I really am impressed with Lara, as a well-trained and brilliant asset to the government security forces.
I have never read any of Jack Winnick's works, but I imagine as I get into this book, he will be added to my list of favorite authors.

I normally like this genre, but I'm not interested in reading about the geopolitical outlook and "issues such as religiously motivated international terrorism, Iran’s nuclear threat, and Russia’s shady role in it." I, therefore, will not be reading this.

I prefer not to read politically-charged thrillers. Otherwise, this sounds like an exciting book with good characters. It starts with a big shock-and-awe with terrorists targeting a preschool.

The cover is very captivating but i didn't see how it relates judging from the review of this book. The book sounds interesting but the storyline is not something i am interested in, as i don't like politics. Thanks for the insightful review.
