it reminds me a lot about "the price of tomorrow" movie, with Justin Timberlake as the main character, i love distopics books and the gun ownership in the US is a really good good topic, plus the review is well written so tou really caught my attention, this is going to my bookshelfs

I am newbie to this site and this is the first book that caught my attention. Since my spiritual journey, death has crossed my mind many times. I feel this will give me a different perspective and I look forward to reading it in the next coming weeks. Thank you for sharing.

This book sounds intriguing for many of the reasons you seem to have enjoyed it: multiple perspectives, realistic but possibly dystopian, social issues to reconcile. I am definitely adding it to my “To Read” shelf, so I can see for myself how this world with foreknowledge of natural death plays out. I do wonder if the author brings up anyone who tries to change their lifestyles (diet, exercise, etc.) as a result of their “final notice” months in advance. Would this have any effect on the date of their final notice? Interesting concepts to consider in our world of epidemic levels of obesity and lack of acknowledgment that we are, in fact, killing ourselves slowly with our lifestyles. I also wonder if it addresses the frustration that comes with being a loved one of someone who does not die of natural causes. Does the ability to know in some cases but not in others affect the outlook these individuals have? Or is it just those seeking revenge who are truly changed by this device?

On seeing the title, I just wasn't sure what to expect or what the book was all about. Is the "final notice" coming from a landlord or from a lender? The pistol on the cover did not help matters: I was intrigued. Thanks for the wonderful review!

Definitely adding to my reading list! This is a very timely subject with regards to gun ownership. I doubt I will change my personal opinion, but I consider all thoughtful perspectives worth hearing. Currently I am pro-gun ownership but limited to certain types of guns.
