The one thing I like in this story is that it seems the author painted a picture of corruption in the police force and the crime against blacks situation, but he did so with sufficient nuance. People in our world tend to oy see in "black and white"—literally—in situations like this. The author shows how the reality is anything but. Plus, I think I like the humanity in the Konrad character.

This introspective yet suspenseful novel shows that people are multifaceted by nature. Life does not simplistically divide people into good and evil. I appreciate your very insightful review and I will be sure to add this novel to my reading list.

I like it when an author makes the protagonist relatable and lifelike. It is good to know that the book excels in that regard. Thanks a lot for the detailed review and recommendation. And congrats BOTD!

I am very glad to see an author portray the Black Lives Matter protests and the police in a thorough way. I also appreciate how timely the book is considering the recent guilty verdict of Dereck Chauvin and the upcoming trials of the three other officers involved in the death of George Floyd. I like that the author humanized those who commit crimes instead of painting them as monsters or menaces to society.

How far are 'so-called' good cops willing to go? Is there really any such person, or is it only a movie thing? This story brings into sharp focus many thought-provoking issues in the security and justice systems globally. Thanks to the author for the various perspectives conveyed. Your review was a delight to read.

This is an intriguing crime thriller that tells the lives of a police officer and a criminal in a prison facility. The themes are very relevant. I hope many people would enjoy this book as much as I did.

This makes me interested in the protoganist's personality. Why would only he stays as a good guy and why didn't he got swayed with the corrupt working of society. How did he became what he became.

I like more linear narration. Nevertheless, this is not my genre. Thank you for the informative review, it does sound like an interesting book.

In Darkness of Blue, the other side of the criminals as well as the police brilliantly explored.

A very relevant story in this day and age were nothing is as it seems. It is great to listen to both sides of the story but regardless of what the reason is, people should still be held accountable for their actions. We as a people should be responsible for our choices.

This book brings an important theme that is the police violence against civilians. It's a serious issue, but I'm not into novels about gang activities, crime, and violent conflicts. Congrats on BOTD to the author! Thanks for the informative review!

The ethical issue discussed in the book is important. I've never read police genre, without counting mysteries. This one might be interesting. Great review!

I like this crime thriller novel. It make me feel like prison break series and something like that. The protagonist Myles did the great roles in story to show the imagination of author to the viewer. This was like a movie inside my mind when I read it. Thanks for your review.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting crime/thriller focusing on a police detective, Myles Konrad, and a man whom he put in prison, Troy Devante Jones. Troy recounts the story of his arrest and imprisonment to his confidant Jordan Conley. It might be worth a second look. Well done.
