I loved Kalayla, but I think I loved Lena more. Her tough love and sarcasm always made me smile. She always knew the right to say at the right time.

Maureen! Maureen is a young mother to Kaylala whose mouth could give you a heart attack. I like how with everything that she had been through, she stays afloat. She tries again and again. At motherhood, family reunion and even love with Rico.

Each character had its own strength. But for me , it was a tie between Lena and Kalayla . It won't be wrong if I say I like their chemistry more than the individual characters.

I liked Lena a lot. Although she has faced a lot of things in her life, she doesn't shy away from cracking jokes to lecturing Kalayla about good manners, which I found humorous.

If you'll ask me, I think both Kakayla and Lena, but I'll choose Lena. She overlooked her hurt and her life situations and chose to look after Maureen and her daughter. That's a lot of courage.

If you ask me my favorite character was Kayala. I loved her character in this book. I was touched by her story.
Likewise! Kalayla was my favourite character. That's because her rebellious nature appealed to me. Further, she's an absolute fighter. She's one of the characters who inspire me.

My favorite character is Lena, The Old Lady. She's got too much experiences in life that made her appeallingly strong and independent. She is an epitome of a brave woman. She's inspiring and empowering.

Kalayla was my favorite because she always said what she thought even though Lena tried to teach her that women should not speak like that. I also loved how sarcastic she was when answering questions.

Kalayla is still my favourite character, she's so smart and mature for such a young girl, and she's so funny. Always poking fun at the crabby old lady(Lena)

What's your funniest Kalayla moment? It's hard for me to choose, but I like it when she opts for peanut butter cookies to carry Lena's bags.
My funniest moment was Kalayla's reaction when she stormed into Lena's apartment after meeting her grandfather for the first time. She has a funny way of venting her anger. And of course, my favourite character is Kalayla, she is funny and wiser than her age.

I can't just have 1 favorite, lol but the 2 that stood out the most to me was Kalayla and Lena.
Kalayla as it's nice to see things through her eyes, at her age. Also that girls' wit is quite funny.
Lena because a lot she went through with her husband, I can relate to and secondly cause you actually learn a lot from her through some of the advise she gives to Maureen and Kalayla.
Lastly the two of them and their sarcasm was absolutely brilliant and so funny

My favorite character is Lena. She was a witty lady who was quick to speak her mind. She shares this quality with Kalayla. What I really enjoyed to witness in her is her healing. It was so refreshing and relieving to witness her healing journey in the book.

All the three major character made the book a top-notch. They brought out the book's livliness. However, out of them all, and while some like Jamal only played very little impact in the book, I'll chose Kalayla as my favorite character.
