I suspect there is just a little too much fantasy in this book to keep me interested. It does sound like an intriguing plot, 'tho, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I really should make an effort with this genre, but somehow it doesn't hold much appeal for me.

I only wish the scenes had been a bit more detailed, especially the ending. It felt a bit rushed and when I saw it was the end of the book, I was a bit dumbfounded.
I understand your perspective. However, is it possible that the lack of details and the awkward ending were meant to entice readers to check out the next books in the series? Thank you for your thoughtful and honest review.
