The story sounds very intriguing and thrilling. Science fiction lovers would certainly enjoy this story. Great review. Thanks.

I enjoyed your review as I read this book recently and it's always interesting to see which angles stand out. I enjoyed the detective search most, and I agree the aliens angle could have been more thoroughly explored. I also found the cliffhanger disappointing!

You're summary was just perfect. I like the way you structured your review. The book appeals to me on several levels, however, reading about aliens isn't really what I like to do.

I like this review, I found it riveting, well-done! I am very forgiving of Sci-Fi novels, in-fact I am quite biased to the genre and will always restate that the best badly written novels to read are Sci-Fi and dystopian novels- my opinion though. So I will find it easy to forgive/overlook the slow pace, the difficult (not too smooth) beginning, the laborious background building of characters and the slightly disappointing ending.
It seems I am making this book look bad (not my intention). Well I would enjoy the mix of aliens; themes of regret, betrayal, grief and love; the characterization that makes it easy to connect and the suspense/thriller usually involved in murder investigations. I would also enjoy the inclusion of the thoughts of the character which usually help with motives and back stories. I would hope that my expectations are met when I embark on this read. Hopefully I will come back to drop a comment when I do.
Finally, I noticed no mention was made of the quality of the dialogue, I would hope it was snappy as it was noted there was humour in this novel.

I am no fan of science fiction or fantasy books, the sex scenes and the story's slow pace are the other things that will make me not read the book. Nice review though.

Sounds like quite the interesting premise for a book. Sorry to hear that it was too slow for you.

I love alien stories, but this sounds a little too disjointed for me.

The premise is unique. A pity about the slow start and too much description. Thanks for the great review!
