The idea of rewritten fairy tales into today’s culture is a fascinating idea. I’m a bit put off because you said some stories tend to drag on, and yet, I would love to see how the author changes each one. Too bad it was so poorly edited. Hopefully those things get fixed. Thank you for your fabulous review. I look forward to reading this book.

Modern twists do make the book sound quite interesting, but it does leave me wondering how much of the fantasy element gets lost when we introduce too much modernism to fairy tales. There's a child-like innocence that is required, I think, to enjoy fairy tales and when we put too much realism in, is that innocence required any more?
That's a good way of looking at it. The book is more realistic than fantasy. It does tend to get you to regret where mankind has reached today. A reality check of sorts.

Yeah, the bad editing tends to get on one's nerves. Otherwise, the book is worth a read.
