I agree with you about the cover art. It was also the first thing that caught my attention. I also liked the simplicity and promising lure of the title.pinchess07 wrote: ↑30 Jun 2018, 17:53 The cover art is phenomenal. And yor glowing review guarantees that this is gonna be an enjoyable read for me! I love this already!

I am happy if my review managed to convince you Patrick Borosky's book is a great first book of an original fantasy series. Thank you for your kind words!Kmdehn wrote: ↑30 Jun 2018, 23:15 You really brought this book to life for me in your review and I can't wait to read it. The author's use of some pretty interesting techniques has me very intrigued. I love a book that can come together with lyrical points and yet also some proper dialogue. The evolution of the writing also sounds quite fun. This sounds like a great adventure story with some deeper concepts that I really want to explore. Thank you so much for the amazing review!

I believe the following books of the series will become more and more complex and interesting. It somehow reminded me of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series which acquired more and more depth as she continued writing one novel after another.

Thanks. I also loved the fact that the protagonist was a young girl with a wild imagination and an incredible artistic talent. One of the strong points of the book is that all the characters are very well portrayed. Besides, the protagonists have also complex personalities and they learn and change throughout their journey.julessawyer wrote: ↑01 Jul 2018, 01:30 this book is for me! female protagonist, adventure in your paintings and social struggles is exactly my cup of tea. by the way, your review was well written. i hope to read this soon.

Thank you. It somehow reminded me of famous books like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland or Gulliver's Travels which have been read and analyzed as both children's books and books for adults. I guess that's the destiny of great books: to appeal to a large audience.

These are some of the reasons why I liked it so much. Besides, imagine the possibilities of expanding the series and having Ato and her companions travel to other worlds too!Kalin Adi wrote: ↑01 Jul 2018, 20:05 The plot of this book sounds fascinating... to have the power to create new worlds and be able to live there sounds terrific! I also like that the second characters play an important role in the story. Therefore, the story is also conveyed from their perspective. This book sounds right up my alley. I'll grab my copy right away!

My thoughts exactly. I guess the genre you prefer only matters until here comes a book that is genuinely well written and thus defies any genre classifications or preferences.

Taking part in the OBC first ten program taught me better than anything else how important it is to have a great cover. In the case of this book, the cover was the first thing that caught my eye. I was definitely happy to have read and reviewed it.

Wow. This sounds marvelous! I love the fantasy elements here. It also seems like the author worked hard on the worldbuilding. I, too, would love to see this on paperback. At a first glance, the novel targets young adult readers, yet there is an extra layer of meaning. For adult readers, it becomes an allegory on human condition and contemporary society.
