I like that the book deals with issues of race, and hope that the author explored it sufficiently! I am certainly interested in picking this up, and thank you for your lovely review!

I read some of the other comments on this book before writing one to see if anyone else thought it was strange/slightly insulting for the superpower of the POC character to be appearing white, oops. I haven't read the book, though, so I trust your judgement more than I trust mine XD (And yes, it's saddening that there aren't more POC and women as main characters! I read The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas recently, and it was such an eye-opener that I now find myself a lot more sensitive to representation in the book/movie/other media industry.)

While the plot seems interesting and I love that there's representation in this book, I must say that it's a little off-putting that there seem to be many grammar errors in it, oops. :P

Thank you so much for your detailed review, it was really helpful! :)

That is an intriguing premise. It makes me think of Mystique in the Mutant series. She changed her looks to be accepted also.

I love the idea of an African American superheroine and the way the author mocks the black/white dichotomy by temporarily giving Misty the power to change the color of her skin. Thanks for a very interesting review.

My curiosity is peeked, though I have a few concerns and questions about the concept, but I would definitely check it out just to find out the answers to my question. Thanks for a great review though.

There not a lot of books about African - American heroines I agree and her power of changing her skin color is cool.

As a middle school librarian I am always looking for good books with non-white protagonists, but based on the grammatical errors you mentioned I don't feel comfortable purchasing this for my library.
