Superhighway (Superhighway Trilogy #1) by Alex Fayman is a Sci-Fi adventure of a different flavor. Alex Fine, orphaned at birth embarks on an epic adventure when he discovers he has a special gift he never knew about. He can transport himself through the internet just by grabbing a data cable. No path is barred to him and he can download and access any digital files he wants anywhere in the world. He becomes the ultimate hacker with unlimited data storage. Not only can he access data, he can physically transport himself to anywhere in the world that has an internet connection.

Alex discovered his ability just as he was preparing to leave the orphanage and go off to an ivy league college on full scholarship. This re-routes his life path as he sees endless possibilities. His goals were selfless when he started changing things in the digital world but he soon learns that every action in life, even in the digital world, has consequences.

Superhighway grabbed me right from the start. With a very unique twist it is similar to a modern day Robin Hood type story. Alex Fine, the main character, is very vivid and compelling. His backstory draws you in as much as the story moving forward does. Where did he come from? How did he get his amazing ability? All of this combined with the awkward transition of a boy on the cusp of becoming a man. You go through the trials and tribulations of love and heartache. You share his confusion at trying to understand the bigger picture when he grew up with such a limited world view. Each supporting character that comes and goes feels almost as alive as Alex comes to feel as you move through this story. Alex’s journey is far from complete when you reach the end of this book.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. While the book is fast paced, it doesn’t leave you wanting. You still get snippets of quiet moments when the main character isn’t in the middle of an action packed adventure. You learn about the characters history and get to watch his future unfold. By the time I finished reading Superhighway I felt Alex was more a real person than a fictional character.

If you’re looking for a compelling story that will draw you in and leave you wanting more, Superhighway is the book for you. Is a fast paced action packed book that will paint a vivid picture for you as the tale unfolds. This was a unique new sci-fi adventure that left some of the other more popular sci-fi genres behind. I highly recommend this book to any sci-fi loving bibliophile.
