Review of Escape From Desolation
"Escape From Desolation, Book 1: Inclusion" by Robert F. Glahe is a sci-fi fantasy novel. It is the first book in the Escape From Desolation series. Captain Yoni Arduus is commanding the Populus on a space mission. Along the way, the ship is involved in some trouble, and there seems to be no way to fix the problems of the ship. The only option is to abandon the ship. Captain Yoni decides to leave the ship and join his starboard pod named Eve. Eve, while escaping, crash-landed on another planet called DeSolus. The captain and his crew come into contact with some aliens, and they face what is called Summary Justice. Captain Yoni believes he is the only survivor and, in a surprising turn of events, learns that he would now be offered citizenship because he survived the execution of the Summary Justice.
The book is a good introduction to the series, setting the tone for the story and keeping the readers curious as to what happens next for Captain Yoni and the happenings on DeSolus.
The book was really interesting, and what made it more enjoyable was the character, Ahri; her character adds color to the story. She played a very important role in Yoni's rehabilitation and adjustment to the alien society. Her understanding and loyalty are some of the things that I like about her.
I had a great time reading the novel. The book's arrangement was excellent, and it was free of typographical errors. I commend the editor for such excellent editing. The characters all played their roles well, and I commend the author's creative and imaginative skill in bringing about such interesting characters in the book. There is nothing I dislike about this book.
I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars because it was intriguing, and the twists and turns of events in the book make the story worth the perfect rating that it gets. I highly recommend this book to lovers of sci-fi, Star Wars, aliens, and space novels.
