That's right, there was so much in there that the review could easily have been twice as long. Thanks for your encouraging comment.Miriam Molina wrote: ↑24 Jan 2018, 17:58 I can appreciate the difficulty of summarizing a complex sci-fi story. I can't even begin to imagine d' Jang's eleven heads. But at least I get "what the hell!"

Yes, you're probably familiar with the Buddhist prayer that supplied the title. The monk is only one character, though Buddhist philosophy underpins the plot. Thanks for posting a reply!Sahani Nimandra wrote: ↑25 Jan 2018, 23:23 I honestly looked at this book because it has a venerable monk who is meditating and I wondered what has that got to do with the book but the sense development is not a work of fiction though. Thanks for the details!

This one's particularly good on the technical aspects, for example - but I know what you mean, so many books, so little time! Thanks for replying.Joy2thenations wrote: ↑28 Jan 2018, 01:25 I like a good sci-fi bot not sure this one will make my ever growing list of books to read.

It would have been great if they had focus on the venerable monk! But the underpin of it does seem to make the book great.ButterscotchCherrie wrote: ↑26 Jan 2018, 01:40Yes, you're probably familiar with the Buddhist prayer that supplied the title. He is one of the characters - so he has different motivations from the others and no fear of death ...Sahani Nimandra wrote: ↑28 Jan 2018, 10:05It would have been great if they had focus on the venerable monk! Yes, there is a lot of detail about the groups and systems on a degraded Earth. Thanks for your reply!

The neurovisor is a device consisting of small wires that burrow into the wearer's brain. It is interesting that the author imagined this as being like the third eye - the mind's eye. It's a good story - enjoy!

It is much easier to do multiple perspectives in film or television as the audience can see the settings of the multiple perspectives for themselves and do not have to rely on the author or character's interpretation.
