I like the idea behind the book, but I don't like the direction the author is taking the story.

Thank you for your review. It is so good to know what types of things one may encounter in a book especially one that carries such “mature” material. I think I’ll give this one a pass.

The year 1878, when locomotives were the most depended-upon mode of transit in California, from an asylum-bound train, an old woman managed to escape into the wilderness with a foundling in tow and abetted by the ghost of her late husband. The Foundling is her great-granddaughter. See that? The opening lines indubitably announced how dark and intriguing this story would be. Thank you for your informative review. I am now decided on reading this book.

This is a very unique premise about a woman using her ghost ancestors to help her hunt trains. I love a good shocking and mind-blowing twist. Great review!

I will not be reading this book. I don't know how I feel about spirits possessing the main character and animals...it's kind of funny to imagine, but not something I'd want to read about. Also, the whole sexual aspect of the book isn't appealing. Thanks for the review!

This looks like my kind of book. I am interested to know how the main character deals with her mystical powers. I'll be checking this one out. Thanks for the review!

I'm not really into this genre, but I think the description written made me wanted to take a shot in reading this. I will check the book first of course. Hopefully, its interesting.

Honestly, I am more intrested in the review than the book itself. The review has been thoroughly done, which is applaudable. I think am going to pass on this one, not really my type.

I thought the summary sounded great until it got to the parts about mysticism and such. That’s not really my scene, and I appreciate knowing in advance to avoid this one.

This book sounds amazingly compelling and imaginative, great for readers teenaged and older. It's too bad about the overused tropes in relation to Juanita's romantic life. Still, the mysticism alone is enough for me to want to read this book. Thank you for the in-depth and insightful review!

This sounds almost like an alternative version of steampunk - a strangely altered past with magic and spirits. Intriguing, but I think I'll give this one a miss.

From the sample this is a really good book. I want to know more about Juanita's life. I want to know her mission and what the outcome is. Does everyone in Promise survive or not? Great review.
