This sounds like this book could be really interesting for some people but the whole heroic wind tunnel save just sounds too cheesy for me to get past personally.

Having read the sample and discovered the incorrect use of lights 'shined down' in the first sentence, I knew this one wasn't for me. I think the author should be a little careful about trademark infringement too. I suspect DC Comics have very expensive lawyers.

An alternate dimension is fascinating for me. Congrats on the review. I haven't read Batman either, but it sounds like I'd like this one nevertheless.

I will be checking this one out. I loved reading the sample, and I look forward to see how this superhero story turns out to be like. Thank you for the review.

Thanks for the review! I must confess that for some reason I thought this book would feature a main female character, and I'm a bit disappointed to learn that that's not the case! But that's not necessarily a dealbreaker. Perhaps I shall have to take a look at this one.

It definitely has that resemblance to batman except here there are supernatural powers involved. Great work!

Nice review of a good book. "Aluria" by Tyler Cook is really a Batman type thriller with a twist. Much like the TV series "The Greatest American Hero" starring William Katz in the eighties. This will be in my TBR bookshelf. This is my genre. :tiphat: :techie-studyingbrown:

I did not like the sample of this book. The dialogue was childish and the author lacked imagination. This book could be so much more.

I enjoyed the review, thank you! However, I do not like this genre of book and I was not drawn in by the sample. The writing seemed a bit childish and I did not feel enticed to read more. Congrats on BOTD to the author though.

Aluria by tyler cook... A fantasy romance which highlights the insecurity of the protagonist connor who attempts to dabble in the supernatural to pick up the threads of his cloistered existence.. Quite dreamy..

Fantastic, other-worldly and super-natural. These are adjectives I don't usually look for in a story's blurb, but I feel a change coming on as Aluria by Tyler Cook is calling to me. After reading the review, I'm intrigued by the provocative 'melding' between a man and his celestial helper! Nice, thought-provoking review.

This sounds like an interesting and relatively easy read. From the sample, I thought the dialogue was a bit stiff, but I hope that that isn't the case throughout the story. Thanks for the review!

I like the supernatural elements, although one of the things I find appealing about Batman is that he uses gadgets rather than some randomly-obtained superpowers. Still, I think the supernatural element would work well here, and I like that Jason goes off to train so that he doesn't hurt anybody. I hope that Tessa is a stronger female than she seems to be, especially since she's trying to improve the living conditions of the city and I'd rather such a person were strong as well as altruistic. I'll reserve judgment for get around to reading this. Thank you for the helpful review.
