I admire your patience and your generosity for having rated this book as you did despite the many grammatical errors that you cited. I think the editing – or lack thereof - of a book shows how much care an author has for his/her work and how much he/she respects his/her readers. I love dragons as well, but with the lack of one in the story, coupled with the mistakes that you pointed out, this book is definitely not for me.

I think I would enjoy this one even with the grammatical errors. I love dragon stories too even if they are referenced only as a myth in the storyline. Plus when it comes to fantasy/sci-fi genre I prefer it when there are more than one book so that way I can get more invested in the characters. Thanks for the review :)

I have to read this as 'Mercer' is my surname in the real world!

I feel your pet peeve when there are many questions unanswered while reading a book until I came to the part that this book is in series. By the way, good review.

The book sounds very fascinating! The inclusion of trolls, vampires gives in "mystical thoughts". But the boy who thinks beyond his age and involvement of dragons remind me of "Merlin" the Tv series. (if there is a dragon in the book rather than a sword with a dragon spirit). Above all, looking forward to read this book.

I like the plot of the story but I don't think that I will read it because of too many errors. Thanks for the review.

It sounds like an okay book and not an extraordinary book which makes me a bit reluctant to read, being that I am a fantasy book lover

Very good review! I appreciate how thoroughly you analyze the grammar and content of the book. Sounds like a good story but the mature qualities of the author leak through his much younger protagonist.

I really like the characterisation you included. It lacks suspense, though and has many grammatical mistakes. Overall, I would give it a 2.5 out of 5.
