Farctasy! I'm so down for a goofy, tongue-in-cheek fantasy romp. I'm so glad the author didn't use the farcical nature of the story as an excuse to skimp on the caliber of writing. Thanks for this thorough and thoughtful review!

Humorous fantasy? Never heard of the genre, but can't wait to give it a try.

I usually enjoy fantasy, but this book seems to be in the style of a parody, which I'm not really into. The part I read was well-written and I'm glad the reviewer was able to enjoy Fish Wielder, but this one isn't for me.

'Official Review: Fish Wielder', by J.R.R.R. (Jim) Hardison, has a nice beginning as well as a nice ending! It helps create a positive idea about the book. I suppose, the book might be as good as the review!

I've been reading up on the history of parodies. Some, like Spaceballs, are made for fun and acknowledging repetitious patterns in genres of literature, while others, like the Bible's Book of Jonah, have strong insight and commentary about society and compliment their parodied genre by taking advantage of these common traits. Which would you say this book falls under?

I was laughing out loud when I read the sample and certainly agree that it is tongue in check. I have a couple of friends who love the books of Terry Pratchett and I will be recommending this one to them. Thanks for the review.

Sounds like an awesome story! I mean whats not to like about a talking, air breathing fish, that lives in a mans pocket?! I have always been a fan of fantasy stories and from the sounds of it, this sounds a lot like the Xanth books from Piers Anthony which was my first taste into this genre! I may just have to pick this one up and have a read.

Thanks!

I'm a bit skeptical about fantasy novels because I struggle with believing the stories. However, your review makes me want to give this book a chance, mainly because you speak so highly of the author's seamless infusion of farce into the story. Maybe the funny element of this book will help me overcome my skepticism about fantasies and actually enjoy the book.

I am a Fantasy genre lover from way back. Have The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings trilogy practically memorized. Don't get me started on Game of Thrones! Definitely going on my bookshelf! Lynne

Action and adventure with lots of silly scenes? I'm all up for it! I do sense it to be a parody of other known books in the same genre. Still, I would want to read this and see how the author worked it all out.

I generally don't like the fantasy genre. I had a hard time getting past Brad the Koi fish. However i felt the author is well written and compelling.

This book does sound very unique. It reminds me of the anime, One Punch Man, because it was created to poke fun at anime in general and it’s awesome! Anyway, I’m not sure if Fish Wielder is exactly like that or not. I definitely want to read it and find out for myself if it’s any good! Love your review!

The way the book was reviewed made me want to read the book all the more. Now I can't wait to meet Thoral and go on an adventure as one of his comrades!
