Wow, I have this book on my shelf and based on the concept of it and a previous review I read on it, I naturally thought highly of it...Though am yet to read it, I have-had high expectations. Too bad it didn't meet your expectations. Now I'm wondering if I should still consider reading it.

In my opinion, nothing destroys a story more than flat and underdeveloped characters. The concept of the book sounds interesting, but I would have a hard time reading it because of the lack of character development.

I keep going back and forth with whether or not I want to read this one. However, if the characters are underdeveloped, I'll just skip it. I've got to be able to connect with characters and watch them grow in some way to really enjoy a novel. Thanks for your honest review.

The dodgy character development puts me off already despite the plot being quite intriguing. The bit about the five-year-old analysing his sister's behaviour would bother me no end if I had to read the book.

Your comment on the lack of development of the characters lets me know this book is not for me –– I don't like superficial stories, and lack of character development is one of the worst kinds of superficiality. Still, I think some readers will enjoy the book, and you review could help them find it.
