The first two might be okay for children. There's not a lot of violence or cussing. I'm just not sure if they would quite understand.

The fact that you still love this series after reading four books tells me a lot about them! That's amazing that they cross so many genres throughout the series. I haven't really read anything like that before. It sounds like his world-building skills are pretty awesome. That's always a selling point for me! Hey, kandscreeley, it seems you were held hostage by this series, just because of that it has to have something good in it.
I picked the first book (The Elf Brief) for review a couple of days ago because it looked like an easy-read and I needed that but now I think it has some gem in it, not that easy-reads don't have substance. I can't wait to start reading it.
