romance, war and family ties. This masterfully written piece of work speaks of Herai who tends to exist in two worlds. However, she's sought of killed in one and survived in the other. I guess I'll have to find out which one by reading the whole novel.

I love the simplicity of the cover - but as they say you can't judge.
The inside and the story sounds anything but simple.
To be honest it all sounds too "twisty" for my taste with the daughter and the underground.

I agree with your assessment that the writing and editing are virtually flawless. Like you, I was not immediately invested in the story but become more so as I got further into the online sample. This does indeed seem like a book that will have numerous sequels. I am not a big fan of sequel after sequel but after reading your review I do think that this first book is worth a read.
