Talking about French, wasn't the Muroroa Atoll used extensibly by the French government to test and perfect its nuclear weapons during the 1970s?

Interesting take on the how the advanced technology is equivalent to magic. It is frustrating when a book is really interesting, but then bogs down and temporarily loses the reader. Your review is interesting and helpful. Nice work!

Great review. Thank you for your honesty! I might give it a go when I have some down time just to see for myself, but I am prepared for the loss of purpose you discussed, so thank you for that! Well done!

This book sounds to be a weird mix. I really dont like books that have too many genres as it can lead to confusion to the sense of direction and tone of the overall story. As you mentioned that it did occur
I may be willing to go out of my comfort zone and read it, but I enjoyed your in depth review. Im a bit intrigued now.

I read the short example and did not seem that interested. The beginning pages were very boring, but your review made me think I will read it after all. However, the loss of the plot in the middle would put me off as well. So maybe I'll check it out and see for myself. Great review!!

I like reading such time travel and sci-fi stories. From the review, a lot of things have been made clear regarding what to and what not to expect from the book. I look forward to reading it. Thank you for the review.

I would love this book more if it had no sex scenes in it but I am intrigued by sci-fi books.

So sad you felt lost while reading the book.... but the premise of where the author was trying to direct the novel still sounds interesting. Im still intrerested enough to try it... Thank you for your beautifully written review... i like that you took the time to note the minuscule details.. gives the reader a fair overview of what to expect ;)
Between the pages of a book is a lovely place to be...

You know, I often wonder why older people compare their academic knowledge with younger ones. A lot of new things were taught between their days in school and the days of the younger people. This book seems to address this issue by stressing the knowledge possessed by Jennifer due to 9000 years of corporate human knowledge. I wonder how Jennifer managed to hide the reason for her superior intellect, and how she even survived in the 21st century. I think the author is very imaginative and creative. Thanks for this good review.
