At the beginning of this book I was very interested in reading the "Heroines Foreward", and to my surprise reading this overly-skipped part gave me better insight. I found that throughout this book the forward guided the reading wonderfully, and if it hasn't been made clear you really should read the forward. Arlie, a young 11-year-old girl who was just gifted with a cat for her birthday finds herself in between new opportunities. Her story is one of any young girl's dreams, a quantum-physics class at a middle school and even a summer program being offered under a brilliant mind. Throughout all this chaos Arlie begins to develop a sort of power, and it all started after a missing cat pencil case. Arlie noticed someone stealing not only her objects but those of her classmates as well, and at first, Arlie had only scratched the surface before having a vivid memory of a boy leaving her homeroom. This sent Arlie on a wild goose chase. The forward helped me understand what exactly Arlie's powers came from. The author illustrated Arlie's powers and situations she eventually finds herself solving to a "T". I enjoyed reading this book the components of science with the idea of solving crimes is often put together such as "forensic science" etc., but in this book it takes a new approach and I found myself reading about crime-solving using powers. The powers, while relatively normal in terms of, are incredibly outlined and detailed understandably. The time for PsyQ is an incredible journey with mystery added was an wonderful read.
