Thank you for the great review. I started reading a sample of the book, and it seemed like another book describing world war II history; but your review reveals its true character and makes it sound highly interesting. One thing I liked was how the author directly plunged into an account of horror and death without any preamble. The comparison between Buddhist and American culture is something I'm looking forward to reading.

This is an amazing enventive fantasy story with a captivating plot and an inciteful onlinebookclub review that highlighted the best the book had to offer. I rated the book 4 out of 4 stars. Congrats @davidjcastello for an amazing BOTD.

I was very interested in this book from the opening lines of your review. The way the story unfolds sounds ingenious and it seemed like a winner. Then you mentioned the 'good vs evil' scenario and I must say, I lost a bit of interest. That's wasn't the way I was hoping the story would go, and for this reason, I'll probably not give it a closer look. Thank you, though. Your review was excellent!

I understood the idea of the book from your review. Precise and concise with major facts. Great job! But I'm not a lover of such fantasy genre. However, I'd love to read it because of the religious aspect of it.

I generally don't enjoy reading anything pertaining to World War II. I also don't think I would like the idea of Jesus being an alien. Overall, this does not seem like a book I would enjoy.

Nazi Germany, WWII, complex characters in a good vs evil play off. Sign me up!

This well-written fantasy story is an interesting read. The author creates a fantastical story based on exciting historical events. The interesting characters involved is also another pro for this book. I'll definitely check it out.

This one sounds complex if the story starts in Germany and then the plot twists and turns to China. I don’t read a lot of fiction, and after reading part of the sample pages, I was wondering where this one was leading. It sounds like the author takes on a lot of subjects in this one including morality, religious conflicts and the act of war. Thank you for the insight in this well written, highly detailed review.

Thank you for your informative review. From reading the first chapter, I would never have guessed that this was a fantasy story. The war scenes were so gruesome that I would have not continued reading. Now that I know that this story has more, I may consider trying it again.

I added to my not interested in reading shelf - historical fantasy is not my genre and not a fan of the religious aspects personally. However, great job to the author for the unique premise during the Nazi and WWII era. Steven sounds like a great protagonist.

The story is full of complex, likable characters. Steven, the narrator of the novel, struggles with life after serving his country in World War II. After seeing the most horrible of human acts, Steven only wishes to prolong his life in order to gain back the years of happiness and joy stolen by the war.

This book looks interesting. The terrible adventures of an American Medic in World War II in Dachau sounds gruesome and intriguing. I look forward to reading about Steven's journeys.

Immortality formula! Sounds interesting. I would love to read this fantasy book but i fear the historical events would make it montonous for me.

The idea behind the quest for immortality is to gain back the years of happiness lost in the war and Steven is the man who wants to prolong his life. A simple wish of a man written beautifully.
