Time for PsyQ, crafted by Marti Ward, is an absorbing science fiction narrative that, while seemingly tailored for younger readers, holds an equal appeal for adults.

Ward's storyline orbits around Airlie Sanderson and her companions. On her eleventh birthday, Airlie receives a cat named Sooty as a gift, setting the stage for the discovery of her extraordinary abilities. These newfound powers transform not only Airlie's life but also the lives of her friends, Yan and Lilly. The real challenge emerges when Airlie's friend, Kate, is abducted.

What powers does Airlie possess? Can she comprehend and wield them effectively? How will these abilities impact her life, and can Airlie and her friends rescue Kate? From the very first page, Time for PsyQ captured my attention with its brisk narrative style and gradual ascent toward the climax. The meticulous scientific explanations behind the children's unique powers, provided by Ward, showcase a commendable storytelling prowess.

The characters in Time for PsyQ are richly developed. Airlie's endearing personality, coupled with her scientific curiosity and determination to understand her abilities, made her my favorite. Each of Airlie's friends, Yan, Lilly, Wendy, and Kate, possesses distinct qualities that contribute to the narrative's depth. The pets, including Airlie’s cat Sooty, Lilly's spider Parker, and others, add a heartwarming touch to the story. Notably, Inspector Johnathan Humble and Sergeant El Sanford stand out as admirable adult characters who take the children seriously. Airlie's parents are relatable figures, balancing support for their daughter with a focus on their children's safety.

Despite my thorough enjoyment of Time for PsyQ, I did encounter over ten errors, a factor that contributed to a deduction in my rating. Nevertheless, a round of editing could easily rectify these issues.

Considering the overall strengths and weaknesses, I rate Time for PsyQ 4 out of 5 stars. The deduction is solely due to the identified errors.

I wholeheartedly recommend Marti Ward's Time for PsyQ to enthusiasts of science fiction and mystery genres. I believe both adults and children will derive immense enjoyment from this exceptional book
