I like that little detail too :tiphat: Nice review! Not sure this genre is for me, but I'm glad it was a captivating story.

I really do not like anything with demons in them so this would defiantly not be a book for me!

I actually download the book on my kindle and engaged in reading it. I did not read any other reviews because I wanted to make a informed decision. From the first two pages, I was curious. The maps had me wondering what was going to come. Since I had not read Hell Holes 1, it was a good idea to start the story with the recanting of the first book. The details were great. I makes it feel like you are connecting with the characters. I can picture Aileen as a very attractive but mysterious woman. Like a lady with long blonde or brown hair, gray eyes and nice body but with a muscle tone. The descriptions of the demons made it very realistic. I could picture the face of a large cat with bettie eyes and lost of teeth. Overall the book was very well put together and a very good read.

Great review. I went to down load it. And was pleasantly surprised that the first book also was available for free too. :) what a treat! Thank you. I got both and look forward to reading them! I only recently started to enjoy this genre of books. Thank you again :)

The book Hell Holes 2 by Donald Firesmith has a rare storyline. I love the fact that it is unique. As I was reading the book, it was as if I was the one narrating the story.

If the hell holes described in the book actually exist in real life, that would be super creepy. Imagine having an open door straight to hell. Thank God it's fiction! I would definitely enjoy this book! Thank you for your review.

I don't read much horror so I don't think this would be a book I would pick up and read. Thank you for your review!

Great to see a sequel to the first book. You have given quite a length to your review. I appreciate your in-depth discussion of the book.

Thanks for the review. This type of book is not really my cup of tea but it's good to see that it is very well done and that there was a definite lack of gender discrimination.

The idea of demons invasion of human race is quite thoughtful and the novel is distinguished by this idea.

Thanks for a great review lane_vespertine. It sounds liked an enterntaining book to read. All kinds of demons coming out of holes in the earth and 3 propose trying to stop them, not an easy task. I appreciate the woman Dr. gets recognition. I am looking forward to reading this book.
Thanks Donald Firesmith.

I like that you pointed out the sublet gender discrimination that goes on in many novels. I had not realized before how women tend to take a back seat even when their academic credentials are superior to their male counterparts. I am glad that this novel did not do that. I like the fantasy elements in the story, but I can see how the shifting perspective makes the story a little confusing. The would also classify this novel as a science fiction novel in addition to the fantasy elements.
