Time for PsyQ follows a young girl named Airlie. On her 11th birthday, Airlie gets a new kitten named Sooty as a present from her parents. After some time, Airlie discovers she has some interesting new abilities that allow her to connect her mind to Sooty’s mind. This new ability is very useful when Airlie is investigating stolen items at school, and later the disappearance of a neighborhood dog. Airlie learns that she is not the only one with this new ability and is soon recruited to a special school camp where she meets other children and animals with similar capabilities. As they learn more about their abilities some of the children use this new skill to solve mysteries and to help people. This is the first book in the Quantum Talents Series and is just the beginning of Airlie’s adventures.

I love that this book included a lot of information on topics related to STEM. I felt that the author, Marti Ward, had a proficient understanding of these topics and was able to skillfully introduce them into her book. I also enjoyed the development of the plot, and the intelligent and competent characters in this story. This book seemed to be well-edited. I found no spelling or grammatical errors.

I would give Time for PsyQ a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I loved the storyline of children and their animal companions helping people and solving crime. It was a very lighthearted and enjoyable experience to read. The details of the science, math, physics, and theory included in this book were awe-inspiring.

I would recommend this book for an early adolescent audience. Although, I do think that everyone can enjoy this book. Overall, I found this book to be a delight to read. I am excited to see what happens next in this series.
