I'm already intrigued with what the book is hiding since you did not spill the beans, and you conclude with "This is a book you need to read." . What is the prophecy about? What decision does Connor finally make? This all sound fascinating, including the fact that the author likes to begin his sentences with verbs. This book will go to my 'to read list' immediately. Thanks for this exciting review!

This book seems to be really interesting since it is not just about fantasy and magic as you said but a battle between good and evil. I am glad that you enjoyed the book so much that you were able to make an excellent review about it.

This is an epic, urban fantasy story about Conor Archer, a Chicago teen who learns of his mysterious celtic ancestry in the midst of a family tragedy. He learns that some residents of Tinker's Grove share a common heritage with him and even darker secrets. But he also realizes his home is a convergence of christian tradition, celtic myth, and american folklore and he's a part of the town mythology. If he doesn't accept his place as a warrior of light, then he's destined as a harbinger of darkness. It's story of a boy caught between his own way and evolving into a destiny that was spoken of him thousands of years before his birth, and a tale between good and evil. The story is original and compelling. Thanks for the good review.

Thank you for your review. I like that you explained the urban Fantasy genre. My favorite part was when you talked about an effective character being a plot element that you care about.

I just started reading the sample. At first, I thought it would be weak. And like you said, lots of starting with verbs, which can seem strange until you settle into it. But once I read a bit more, it definitely had my interest piqued. Thanks for a great review!

A fantasy set in the modern world, as opposed to a place that is a product of the author's imagination, is a double treat. Such a story appeals to fans of both fantasy and contemporary fiction. Roan appears to be such a novel.

Your detailed review shows this novel to be a fascinating, multi-layered read. Thank you for sharing.

What a wonderful urban fantasy. The Christian tradition, Celtic myth, and Native American folklore is such an area of my interest. Thank you for this great review.
