I sampled the book on Amazon. I found the beginning a little complex and it has even been mentioned in the review by Jacnthabox. Conor Archer, the protagonist finds out about his mysterious Celtic ancestry and has to unravel this puzzle. As said in the review, this is a bold step taken by the author, E. R. Barr to debut his writing career with such a story. The story caters to readers interested in Urban Fantasy, Epic Fantasy and Dark Fantasy.

Thank you for a wonderful review, I really enjoyed reading it. I put this book on my 'to read' shelf, but it wasn't really an 'anytime soon' read as the size of it was a little daunting for my current amount of free time. However, your review has completely changed my mind. Up to the top part of the shelf it goes! I love a good fantasy novel and this one sounds like it has a great storyline and wonderfully fleshed-out characters.

jacnthabox I completely agree with what you have written in your review of Roan: The Tales of Conor Archer. Your review was excellent, clearly written and accurate. As a debut Novel E.R Barr did an amazing job with a truly compelling story. Your 4 out of 4 stars is spot on. This Urban/ Dark Fantasy is going to kick some serious butt in established writers circles. Congratulations on your official review.

Thank you for that great review! I read the sample of Roan on Amazon and I agree totally with your review. I don't usually like fantasy books but this book was very well written and had me wanting to turn the page! Your 4 out of 4 stars was perfect! I will definitely be looking into getting the whole book and be looking for future books by E.R. Barr.

Great review! Sounds like an amazing story. I like stories of cultures, with characters trying to fit into their roles in the family. Whether it be the role of a warrior trying to protect is town or village. I like stuff like this, shapeshifting, demons to fight..exciting stuff. Congratulations on BOTD.

Sounds like you really enjoyed this book - great review! I'm not a big fan of this genre, however, so I'll probably pass on it.

An epic urban and dark fantasy story in the book "Roan: The Tales Of Conor Archer" by E. R. Barr, which focuses on a Chicago teen named Conor Archer, who learns of his mysterious Celtic ancestry during the period of his family tragedy. Conor realizes that his home is a convergence of Christian tradition, Celtic myth, and Native American folklore. The story looks quite captivating.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

I’m not really into Urban fantasy but the Celtic elements and the Native American folklore included sound like an interesting addition to this novel.

In fantasy books for me the most important thing is world building. It seems the author of this book did a good job with it. Your review makes me want to read it.
