That IS a refreshing detail...no romantic interest. I really like that idea. I agree with you. YA is way oversaturated with romance. This makes me even more interested in reading this. Thanks for the fantastic review!

Thank you for the review! I really appreciate when ya novels focus on a plot that isn't centered around romance! It sounds like an interesting read!

LivreAmour217 provides an insightful review by mentioning what is NOT in the book, unnecessary and mushy romantic themes. I will probably read this one just to see how that works out.

This book is so nice! It has a combination of sci-fi and adventure, with many other genres too! Awesome book! I rate this 4 out of 4 stars!

My first review on this site. The Alienation of Courtney Hoffman review was very well written and certainly spurred me to look further into the book. I read a lot of books and am behind right now but Courtney is assuredly on my to read shelf.

Great review. I'm a big fan of YA, and this one is particularly unique from most YA I read. I'm interested in trying it out and seeing how I like it!

Thank you so much for reading my review! Personally, I believe that I would have enjoyed this book when I was in high school. I would recommend it to teens who science fiction and fantasy :)

Thanks for the review. It is very unusually that YA books do not have a love interest, but I am glad that you enjoyed the book that way. It must have been interesting to see how a male author could connect and get into the character of a 15 year old girl so successfully.

I've seen this around the site and never would have assumed it was about aliens. Given that it is, it may be something I would enjoy.

Sounds like a serious book, but also rather refreshing. I'm glad mental illness was touched on. It's something that tends to be ignored in science fiction stories set in the present day. With all the adventures happening, you forget that the character is acting strangely for a 'normal' person. Good review!

Thanks for the great review. I was thinking she might be hallucinating with her alien visitors even with her grandpa. It is a good read. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

Introverts often complain things like this. The book appears to be one among those. The review has clearly brought out the typical mind of an introvert.
