Great review. I'm glad to know the book's title relates with the storyline unlike some. I love the genre and quite agree that it's a book for all ages.

This book sounds very interesting, especially since I'm a huge fantasy fan and the mystery behind Johnny's family intrigues me. The community also reminds me a lot of the science fiction/dystopian novel The Giver if it had fantasy elements rather than science fiction. It's a shame about the confusion caused by shifts in POV. Thank you for the thorough and honest review.

Thank you for the nice review. It did seem to start slow but did pick up. I enjoyed the premise of the story.

This definitely sounds like an interesting fantasy entry. It can be difficult to follow a book when the points of view change. The author must be very skilled to keep this from happening. Perhaps with some polishing, a star could be added. Overall though, it sounds like an interesting read.

Wow!!! The book sounds like an entire fun to read because it seems to absorb the attention of its readers. The dialogues sound so real and the magic part carrying a dark mystery with it is equally alluring!!

in the book, Johnny lives in a community full of good deeds, but put aversion to magic and others. The book reveals Johnny's life in the community, his encounter during the legendary burning lake search, his challenges. The review shows the book is very interesting.

Most books have to grab my curiosity. I think this book has grabbed it! When there's a choice to be made and a hard choice at that, it grabs me and there are some that I know that feel the same way! And reading 'Burning Lake', oxymoron, have to be curious! :D
