Great review. This book sounds really interesting. I also like that there is no profanity and graphic sex. I think some authors overuse profanity and don't actually need it. This tends to bring down some books to me. The underwater descriptions sound very fascinating. Also, I'm very curious how a human-dolphin would live. This sounds like a must read.

Thanks. Indeed, there are great classic books on all kinds of subject matter without vulgarities. You could easily argue that they are never needed.

That's a happy story! Well, if I ever do read it, you'll be the first to know! 8)
As an easy alternative, you could read Anthem, by the same author; it is only about 20,000 words. It is a totally different story than Atlas Shrugged, but they are thematically similar.

Great review, Kappy! I've definitely got this on my to read list. Sounds like there are so many fascinating elements to this story!

I will have to consider this Atlas Shrugged thing. I will need to get around to reading AS and I probably need to give War and Peace another try at some point too :)
