Todd Cheney's The Bracelet is a contemporary fantasy. In this book, the author tries to portray or show that every individual has free will and knows the difference between right and wrong. Though we may struggle with ourselves, we all have control over our lives and end up living with our decisions, whether good or bad.

What will you do when you receive a mysterious package that has the power to grant you anything you ever wish for? What would you do if you had the power to be God in your hands? A very unrealistic question, right? However, that is what happens to Mike Alex, the protagonist who is a mechanic in Middleton.

The positive aspects of this book are many. It was beautifully written, fascinating, and entertaining, and it also provoked the question that if I was in the character's shoes, what would I have done? Would I have made the same mistakes and had the same thoughts? Or would I have done things differently? As they say, power is intoxicating (addictive). I loved that the author brought one of my wildest imaginations to life, a far-fetched fantasy. Just imagine the world having wings. It is impossible, isn't it? However, that is why it is fictional. I liked how the author developed and built the storyline at a pace. He showed us what happened after every wish that was made by the protagonist. He also showed the lives it affected, which made me want to read further and find out how the story would end. I liked that I learned many life-changing lessons from this book. One of which is that you have to take control of your life and not be swayed by other people's beliefs or mistakes. Also, you have to face the consequences of the choices made, whether good or bad. Therefore, I can say this was a brilliant book filled with amazing and amusing characters and a wonderful plot. It is a must-read for everyone.

The only negative aspect of this book is the typos and errors contained in it, which can be corrected. Though lengthy, the book was really fun to read.

I will be rating this book 4 out of 4 stars because it was well written. I found the book to be both comedic and educational. There were a few errors in the book. However, these errors did not affect how much I enjoyed the book.

I recommend this book to people who love contemporary fiction. I also recommend this book to young adults and adults.
