Review of George
What makes us human? Perhaps, is there a hidden purpose motivating us and controlling everything we do to take us on to our destiny? These and many other questions were answered in this science fiction book titled George by James H Russell.
After listening to an intoxicating speech by a specialist in human paleontology, Richard Grayson, at the prize-giving ceremony in his son's school, James Harcourt Russell develops an insatiable desire to visit Lake Turkana in Kenya, which, fortunately, his wife agreed to. Luckily, they discover a cave where Sarah, James' wife, found George. Although George can be physically described, his features and capabilities remain mysterious to its founders, who are bent on finding it out. George might have many more powers than we can imagine. He might even be able to save humanity. Read this book to be properly acquainted with George and find out what he can do.
If you enjoy unexpected twists and turns, this is the book for you. The book was full of unexpected twists and turns that kept the reader hooked to the page. The author also did an excellent job describing the book's elements and events, almost to a fault. It contributed to the creation of visual effects when reading. The work was written in the first-person perspective, and the narration was extremely thorough. The author left nothing out. Characters were also well-developed, defined, and introduced, and the book had good characterization. I particularly appreciated the author's use of straightforward, easy-to-understand language.
The book began with a very clear and informative introduction that set the tone for the rest of the book. It also helped me stay focused on the book's principal goal. The book posed the subject of why humans, despite the risks, tend to reject nature. It's a thought-provoking piece. Nature, primitivism, adventure, family, science, and research were all featured.
There was nothing about this book that I didn't like. I was able to enjoy the book more because of the comprehensive writing. The characters were interesting and entertaining. It was amusing when James mentioned that he had never received any awards in school but that he would have received an award for detention if there had been. I also loved Gary's inquisitive nature and the relationship between Sarah and James, apart from the fact that there are a couple. The book was also educational. Through the adventure in Kenya, I got to know places like South Horr, Baragoi, Kulal, Great Rift Valley, and Lake Turkana. The book also covered science in the novel, particularly the human body and its dynamics. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. The book was also carefully edited since I only found a few minor errors and profanities that did not interfere with my reading. As a result of the above, I rate this book four out of four stars.
It is a book I recommend to adventure and science fiction fans. This book is also recommended for those who are captivated by human evolution.
