The book The Watchmakers Doctor by G.M.T. Schuilling is a book based on time travel. It is the first book in the Erase and Rewind series. In this book we follow Anaya who is a doctor, we see her reliving her life. It is narrated in the third person point of view and follows Anaya’s perspective.

In the book, we see Anaya a thirty-five-year-old doctor, who is taking care of Gregory who was a watchmaker and lives in an old age facility. On her last visit to him, he gifts her the most important creation of his entire a career, a watch. This watch can reset time when you die. It will help you to relive your life and undo one thing which you regret the most. As Anaya realises that she must make her decision between correcting one error or dying, she decides that her biggest regret was dropping out of school at seventeen. She chooses to turn back time and starts from the day she dropped out of school.

This book was very intriguing and had suspense as a very important part of it. I love books with suspense and it lived up to my expectations. The book showed how Anaya made different choices, those that were very different form the ones she had made in her previous life. She decided that now that she has a second chance, she will make a difference in her life and in the lives of those around her. We also see her deal with mental illness. In an era where mental illness was considered something as a taboo, Anaya and her parents work together to overcome it. In the book Anaya had flashbacks of her past life where things went very differently. I really liked how those scenes were executed.

There was nothing about the book that I did not like.

I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. Even though I prefer multiple perspectives in books, I really liked reading only Anaya’s perspective. It was a well-written book. It had a really good ending which makes me want to read the next book in the series. The book was professionally edited as I found no errors in it.

I would recommend this book to sci-fi lovers. As this book deals with time traveling, there is a good chance that someone who likes sci-fi will like this book. Also, people who like literary fiction and mystery will like this book. The book has no sexual content but there are instances of profanity. Trigger warning: Rape, death, grief.
