The Stolen Heir by Tayma Tameem is a fictional story about a boy whose magic would one day decide the Kingdom's fate, but he does not even know it yet. Even though the kingdoms were normally calm and peaceful, things suddenly changed. The new baby boy, Erik, was taken away at birth by the mages. Thumeria and Paleria start a war with each other as their new heir goes missing, and it was an instant battle to decide who is to blame.

I truly liked this book for multiple reasons. It automatically started with a slight backstory and dialog, and it immediately caught my interest. Sometimes slow beginnings can just be a drag, but it was instant action in this case. The advanced vocabulary was also a huge positive and fit to the era the setting was in. It was an interesting take from the Kingdom's point of view, because it reminded me of The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski. Instead of it being in the Witchers' perspective, it was in the Kingdom's perspective. I was intrigued by the entire book. The details were wonderful, and the observant details by the characters were a nice touch as well. It just made me feel like I could easily slip into the characters shoes.

The only negative that I really found was that some of the characters were hit or miss. For example, I felt some of them did not have any actual character development and were just there to fill in a spot for dialog. Other than that I genuinely liked the book and did not want to stop reading it.

I would give this book a clear 4 out of 4 rating just because it was so action packed and I was constantly looking forward to what each chapter would bring. I could not put this copy down. Every time I would take a break, I would start thinking about how the setting played such a huge role in the book just because of how the author described everything.

If you know what The Witcher by Andrezej Sapkowski is, I think this would be a great addition to your book list. If you like action packed, magic, family drama, a little mystery and some chaos, this is the book for you. I would recommend this book to just about anyone who was willing to be glued to the book for a day.
