The present right now isn't the best and everyone is a little more stressed than usual. We always have to be careful of sanitation, we can't see our friends, and it's hard to watch the news. Now is a better time than ever to take care of ourselves, open up a book and get lost in another world, even if it's only for five minutes. Matthew Tysz creates a captivating story where good and bad are always battling each other. If you don't like fiction or fantasy novels, then this book may change your mind.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a novel about a great kingdom called Voulhire. There are several main characters in this book who live in Voulhire and the author writes about each of their perspectives. In the novel, the kingdom is undergoing great change. This new era brings goodness as well as darkness. The characters must figure out how to navigate these times in a world filled with magic and science.

I rate this book 4 out 4 stars for multiple reasons. This book has an amazing plot and it really hooks the reader from the beginning. There are many memorable characters who are each unique in their own way. The author wrote each character's perspective differently, which really showed how distinct they are from one and another. It also made you appreciate the book more because the characters don't feel generic and seem like actual people. The story was very unpredictable and kept the reader interested and wanting more. The novel is also exceptionally well edited.

What I liked most about this book is how the author made his fantasy world mirror our world. Most fantasy novels I read usually have a medieval kind of setting where technology doesn't exist. This book follows the same format, but it includes many things from our world. An example of this would be when the book shows us how Voulhire is going through a major change. That change is similar to the industrialization era that happened in human history. Another example is the dialect used by the characters. Even though the characters are from a different time, they speak the way people talk in the present.

This book is great for people who love to read fiction and fantasy. It has a lot of profanity in it which may not suitable for everybody, especially young readers. While there are no erotic scenes, some characters mention sexual content in the novel. People who don't like to read that kind of content should choose another book. This book is great for people who like books about friendship, family, love, revenge, magic, and royalty.
