Galen Bray is a young man who has spent twenty years of his life in the land of the Princes. There are four princes who rule over these lands after inheriting it from their father. Even though they have been given beautiful islands, soldiers and weapons, each one of them wants to be the sole heir to their father's empire. In these lands, nobody is safe. If you are not a businessman or contributing directly to the economy you die of poverty, disease or starvation and If you are lucky enough to have a career, you spend your days worried that you could be killed for supplying resources to the enemy. Galen Bray has a chance to leave these lands and explore Voulhire, a very different place from where he has been, a place he has only known by name. A land with magic and prosperity.

We are the Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tsyz explores the adventures of Galen Bray, Voulhire and all its towns, politics and leadership, friendships and magic. Written in the first person and the third person, the story ensures a shift in perspective, scenery, and twists which keep the reader hooked till the end wanting more. As the first book in the Voulhire series, this book certainly keeps you looking forward to the other releases.

I absolutely loved this book, especially how different aspects of society come to play. In Voulhire, the church, the state, and magic seem to exist in an almost perfect world. The build-up of the story is very interesting with a meticulous flow. I kept on reading to find out more about the characters and anticipating their next move when faced with a challenge. There are adventures and stories from different parts of Voulhire connecting the whole plot and adventures of Galen maintaining the flow of the story.

The fact that the story is about Galen Bray but does not always revolve around him makes it even more interesting. As a newcomer, Galen sees the perfect side of Voulhire, the prosperity, the magic, the beauty and he is very determined to continue the legacy of his great Uncle's business. Other chapters introduce the reader to the great Voulhire and everything else that is hidden and lurking in the beautiful cities, everything that Galen has yet to find out.

The book was thoroughly edited and proofread. The various themes and adventures of this book make it interesting and deserving a 4 out of 4 stars rating. I cannot wait to read other books in the series. I would recommend this book to young adults who enjoy fantasy, adventure, and magic.
