Nazzo wrote: 14 Feb 2022, 07:10 I didn't really like/agree with the author's portrayal of the Nephilim. According to the bible, the Nephilim were sons of God who came down from heaven, married human women, and also had children with them. They were also renowned and known as heroes of old (Gen. 6:4).

However, the author depiction them as merely slow-witted giants. What are your thoughts on this?
I don't like the author's description of the Nephilim, he made them look like dummies who just follow orders without thinking, they had no mind of their own. Their actions were influenced and ruled by Enoch.

The book presents itself as fiction, but maybe this detail was a bit stretch.

I totally agree with you, the author realky did twist the stories in the Bible. But I really don't see any need for all this additions and twists.

This was just the authors imagination so I had no issue with how he wrote about the Nephilim.

I think the author's depiction of the Nephilim was creative even though it deviated from the Bible's information on them. What I really didn't like was that when the Flood began the Nephilim's wailing and crying out to be let into the ark was heard. This is not mentioned in the Bible and I feel that their part in the story was far larger than it should have been.

Wow... I just learned about the Nephilim being mentioned in the Bible. Thanks for the insight. I will say that the author just imagined it that way to fit into his story.

Truly the author potrayed them as slow witted but I think that's how they fit into his imagination to get the picture he has in mind.

Yeah I agree with you, I don't like how the Nephilims were potrayed, they are more than mere giants

Yeah, definitely, the fact that the Nephilims are such blockheads didn't sit well with me.

I did not pay so much attention to what the Nephilim was all about. I had so much focus in the story that I thought that to be a minor detail.
