Do you think the motive for killing Abel was portrayed in the correct way?

As the Book of Genesis doesn't actually specify a reason for Cain killing Abel, do you think that the motives in this novel were portrayed in the correct way? Should there have been more specified motives in this book, or do you think it would have been best to leave absolutely no motive?

Since it's a novel, I am not comparing with the Bible. I don't think there is a correct or incorrect way for the author to use his fantasy and creativity.

Well said. I think the Bible is clear on this. It was the jealousy that made Vain to kill Abel.

The book of genesis did actually explain the reason behind Cain murdering his brother Abel. He did it out jealousy because his offering was not accepted while that of his brother Abel was accepted.

I think the author used his imagination in trying to explain why Abel's offering was accepted and not Cain's. He did not change Cain's motive.

The Bible states categorically that while the two brothers offered Sacrifices to the Lord, Abel's offering was whole acceptable to God. Cain's wasn't. This angered him and he resorted to killing his brother,Abel

It was purely out of jealousy. Any other idea by the author is only to add flesh to the book and increase the imagination levels. The book is fictional hence in a way justifiable.
